The Province on 31st January 2025 celebrated the Feast of St. John Bosco at the Provincial House, Panbazar, bringing together Salesians, young people, and well-wishers to honor the beloved founder and friend of the young St John Bosco.
The day began with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati. In his homily, Fr. Sebastian encouraged all present to imbibe the spirit of St. John Bosco by living a holy life and placing their trust in divine providence. He highlighted Don Bosco’s deep faith, love for the youth, and commitment to education and formation, urging the faithful to continue his mission of guiding young people toward a life of virtue and purpose.
The evening celebrations commenced at 7:00 PM with a Prayer Service on the theme Hope: The Heartbeat of the Salesian Spirit. Fr Provincial welcomed the members of the Salesian family and other invitees to join in thanking God for the gift of St John Bosco. The prayer service was then followed by a Fraternal Meal at 7:30 PM. The gathering provided an opportunity for the Salesian family to come together in gratitude, remembering the legacy of Don Bosco and renewing their commitment to his vision of faith, education, and service.
The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, members of the Salesian community, and lay collaborators who continue to uphold Don Bosco’s mission in various educational and pastoral endeavors.
