Bosco Reach Out inaugurated the Three-day Training for the Community-Based Disaster Response Team of Sipajhar Block, Darrang District, Assam, on January 28, 2025, at its head office in Guwahati. Fr. Sebastian Ishorary delivered the welcome address, setting a positive tone for the event. The program’s Chief Guest, Fr. Jayaprakash Anthonimuthu, Provincial Economer and former Executive Director of Bosco Reach Out, encouraged the participants with the inspiring message: “Be Prepared and Not Scared”
Mr. Polash Baruah, Deputy Controller of the Civil Defence Department, Mangaldoi, along with two junior officers, led the training sessions aimed at raising awareness and equipping the team with essential skills for flood disaster preparedness. Mr. Baruah urged the participants to share their newly acquired knowledge with their communities, emphasizing the importance of building resilience at the grassroots level.
The inaugural event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Fr. Ignatius Gari, Associate Director of Bosco Reach Out, acknowledging the contributions of the resource persons and the participants.
