Scouts and Guides/ NCC/ NSS:
The Scouts and Guides Commission of the Province presented a comprehensive plan to strengthen the movement across Don Bosco institutions in the ING Province. The vision for 2025–2030 emphasizes discipline, leadership, ecological sensitivity, and patriotic values, aligning with the Salesian mission of forming “Good Christians and Honest Citizens.”
Achievements
- Integrated Scouts/Guides syllabus into school co-curricular activities.
- Enabled digital registration via DB District Association and OYMS.
- Organized ecology and patriotism rallies, fostering public engagement.
Collaboration with Other Commissions
The commission outlined synergies with 16 other commissions, including:
- School Education: Curriculum integration and unit formation.
- Higher Education: Rovers and Rangers programs for Classes 11–12.
- Ecology: Joint eco-campaigns and Green Ambassador roles for Scouts.
- Youth at Risk: Scouting as a rehabilitation tool for marginalized youth.
- Social Communication: Publicizing events through newsletters and digital campaigns.
Future Initiatives
- Expansion: Mobile scouting units for migrant communities (Migrant Desk).
- Safety: Compliance with child protection guidelines (Protector of Minors).
- Alumni Engagement: Scout clubs for past pupils to mentor current members.
- Finance: Transparent budgeting for camps, uniforms, and registrations.
