The participants of the Vocation Camp held at Dimakuchi, Assam.
The Vocation Camp for the Assam Plain Region, which was inaugurated on the evening of 27 December 2025 at Christ the King Parish, Dimakuchi, concluded prayerfully on the morning of 30 December 2025 with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The concluding Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial, bringing to a meaningful close three days of discernment, reflection, prayer, and fraternal sharing.
The camp witnessed the enthusiastic participation of vocation aspirants from various parishes of the Assam Plain Region, who gathered at Dimakuchi with a sincere desire to listen to the call of God and to discern His will in their lives. Throughout the camp, the participants were guided through moments of prayer, input sessions, personal reflection, group activities, and interactions with Salesian priests, helping them to deepen their understanding of vocation, especially in the spirit of Don Bosco.
In his homily during the concluding Holy Mass, Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim reflected on the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple by Mary and Joseph and the meeting with the Prophetess Anna. Drawing a powerful connection to Christian life and vocation, he reminded the participants that just as Jesus was presented to the Lord by His parents, each one of us was presented to God at our baptism. This initial offering, he explained, continues throughout life and finds a special expression in vocational discernment. As the vocation camp came to an end, he invited the participants to see this moment as a renewed call to dedicate themselves generously to the Lord.
Fr. Bivan further encouraged the young aspirants to remain open to God’s guidance, to cultivate a deep life of prayer, and to be willing to make sacrifices in loving dedication to God and His people. He emphasized that vocation is not merely a personal choice but a response to God’s loving call, lived out through faithfulness, service, and self-giving.
At the end of the Eucharistic celebration, Rev. Fr. John Mathias Marak, SDB, offered words of gratitude on behalf of the vocation team. He thanked the Salesian community of Dimakuchi, the parish priest, and all those who contributed in various ways to the smooth organization and success of the camp. He also acknowledged the cooperation of the volunteers and benefactors whose support made the programme fruitful and enriching.
As a token of remembrance, each vocation boy was presented with a photo of Don Bosco, reminding them of the Salesian charism and the loving presence of the Father and Teacher of Youth. The camp concluded with a group photograph, capturing the joyful memories and shared experiences of the days spent together at Dimakuchi.
