On 16th October 2025, the Diocese of Bongaigaon organized the Formees Meet 2025 at St. Aloysius Seminary, Bongaigaon, under the theme “Called to be Light, Sent to Serve.” The event brought together over 200 formees from various stages of formation for a day of reflection, fellowship, and celebration of vocation.
The morning session was animated by Fr. V.J. Abilash SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, Chapaguri, who guided the participants through meaningful reflections and group interactions centered on the call to holiness and service.
The highlight of the day was the Holy Eucharist celebrated by the Bp Thomas Pulloppillil, the Bishop of Bongaigaon during which he encouraged the formees to remain steadfast in their vocation and be radiant witnesses of Christ’s love in today’s world. The solemn celebration was followed by a meal, fostering a spirit of fraternity and joy among the participants.
The afternoon cultural program added colour and liveliness to the event. The participants took the opportunity to felicitate the Bishop on his Silver Jubilee, cutting a commemorative cake amid applause and cheer. The stage came alive with songs, dances, and performances, with the Pre-novices stealing the show through their soul-stirring choir presentation, “Rise Ye Children of Salvation.” The festivities continued with tea and friendly matches, strengthening bonds among the young formees.
In his address, the Bishop expressed deep joy and gratitude at witnessing the growing number of vocations in the diocese. “The Lord continues to bless our diocese with generous hearts ready to serve,” he said, urging the youth to nurture their call with faith and commitment.
The day concluded on a note of gratitude and thanksgiving, as the participants expressed appreciation to all who contributed to making the event a memorable and enriching experience.
