A thrilling friendly basketball match between St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha and Bosco Mount, Rongkhon was held on 15th October 2025 at 1:20 p.m. in the school basketball court. The event brought together students, staff, and guests in a vibrant display of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
The event began with a short welcome address by Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra, Principal of St. Dominic Savio Hr. Sec. School, who warmly greeted the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Anthony S. Sangma, Dean of Studies at Bosco Mount, Rongkhon, and both participating teams.
The day’s match was efficiently coordinated by Fr. Anmol Soreng, Vice Principal of the school. The game was officiated by Mr. Sengkam Marak and Mr. Walter Rangsa Marak, who ensured fair play and a smooth flow of the match.
Both teams played with great energy and enthusiasm, captivating the spectators with their skills and teamwork. After a competitive and spirited contest, Bosco Mount Rongkhon emerged victorious with 30 baskets, while St. Dominic Savio Hr. Sec. School, Garobadha scored 22 baskets. The cheers and applause from the audience added to the excitement of the day, fostering a true sense of unity and sportsmanship.
This friendly match was particularly special as it marked the first inter-school basketball encounter after a long gap at St. Dominic Savio School, rekindling the sporting zeal among students and teachers alike.
In his concluding remarks, Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, referees, players, organizing committee, and all who contributed to making the event a resounding success.
