
The missionary chart 2025.
In a spirit of great joy and missionary zeal, Rev. Fr. Uttam Hubert Molsom SDB, a missionary from the Salesian Province of Guwahati, departed for Rome on Sunday, 12th October 2025, to begin the Missionary Course at Turin. Fr. Molsom has been appointed as a missionary to South Africa, carrying forward Don Bosco’s dream of spreading the Gospel among the young and the poor.
His departure comes at a significant moment for the Salesian world as the Congregation celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Don Bosco’s first missionary expedition to Patagonia, Argentina, a milestone that continues to inspire Salesians across the globe to live out their missionary calling with renewed fervor.
On the evening before his departure, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial, on behalf of the Province, conveyed heartfelt wishes and blessings to Fr. Uttam. The Provincial expressed his admiration for Fr. Uttam’s courage and readiness to serve in a new mission land, assuring him of the prayers and continuous support of the confreres in his missionary endeavors.
Fr. Sebastian also remarked that Fr. Uttam’s journey is a moment of pride and grace for the Province, as it reflects the living missionary spirit that Don Bosco instilled in his sons.
Fr. Uttam is expected to reach Turin on Sunday, 13th October 2025, where he will join other missionaries from around the world for the orientation and formation program before proceeding to his new mission in South Africa.
The entire Salesian Province of Guwahati joins in wishing Fr. Uttam Molsom every success and divine blessing as he begins this new chapter of his Salesian mission, a witness of faith, service, and love that continues to keep Don Bosco’s missionary dream alive.
