On September 26, 2025, the Provincial House, Panbazar, Guwahati hosted a significant meeting of administrators from across the province. The day-long event, focused on enhancing administrative efficiency and financial stewardship, brought together the administrators for a series of informative sessions and strategic discussions.
The proceedings commenced with welcome words from Rev Fr. Jayaprakash Anthonimuttu SDB, Economer setting a collaborative tone for the day. This was followed by an opening prayer led by Rev Fr. Benny Alex, invoking guidance for the day’s work. Rev Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial then delivered a keynote address, outlining the vision and expectations for the province’s administrative functions in the coming year.
A highlight of the morning session was the introduction of the resource person, Chartered Accountant Mr. Saurav Das. Mr. Das led two intensive sessions, one before and one after the tea break, delving into crucial financial management principles and compliance protocols essential for the smooth operation of the province’s various institutions.
Following a lunch break, the focus shifted to internal leadership. Fr. Benny Alex conducted the third session, sharing insights on administrative responsibilities within a spiritual framework. This was followed by a session led by Fr. Jayaprakash, who addressed practical operational guidelines and future plans.
The meeting drew to a close with concluding remarks from Fr. Provincial, who synthesized the day’s learnings. He reinforced the path forward by emphasizing that ‘every confrere in the community should be aware of the house accounts.’ “Money cannot build our communities,” he stated. “We need to be humble enough to share the economic situation of the house with all the confreres.”
The Provincial added that honesty in managing accounts is essential for every administrator in the province.
