
Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, has once again set a benchmark in higher education by winning the prestigious Manipur State Award for Educational Excellence 2025 for the fourth consecutive year.
The award was conferred during the State Level Teachers’ Day Celebration at the City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.
Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Government of Manipur, presented the award as Chief Guest of the event organized jointly by the Department of Education (Schools), Higher and Technical Education, SCERT, and Adult Education.
Founded with the motto “Learn, Excel & Lead,” Don Bosco College Maram is a premier minority Catholic institution permanently affiliated with Manipur University and re-accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.35/4). The institution also enjoys UGC recognition as a College with Potential for Excellence (CPE).
With 2,379 students, the college offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams. It is equipped with over 60 smart classrooms, advanced computer and science laboratories, and hostel facilities managed by religious congregations.
The award adds to the institution’s long list of national achievements. These include being the first Mentor College in North East India under UGC’s PARAMARSH scheme, receiving the National Award for Best SBSI Team 2018 from the Hon’ble Prime Minister, and winning the National NSS Award 2018–19 for Best NSS Unit from the Hon’ble President of India. It has also been recognized as a Swachhta Action Plan Institution by MGNCRE, the Ministry of Education.
Consistently producing stellar academic results, the college has celebrated 74 Manipur University rank holders in 2021, followed by 50 each in 2022 and 2023.
