Participants during the celebration of St. Monica’s Day cum Mother’s Day 2025 at Don Bosco Parish, Kokrajhar
The Don Bosco Parish, Kokrajhar, joyfully celebrated St. Monica’s Day cum Mother’s Day 2025 on Sunday, 24th August, in the Parish Auditorium. A large gathering of Catholic mothers from the parish came together to mark the occasion with faith and fellowship. The feast of St. Monica, patroness of mothers, is observed on 27th August.
The celebration began on Saturday, 23rd August, when participants arrived and took part in an evening programme of animation and spiritual sharing. On Sunday, a special session was held for the mothers before the solemn Eucharistic celebration.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Francis Basumatary SDB, Parish Priest, and concelebrated by the priests of the parish. In his homily, Fr. Francis reflected on the life and virtues of St. Monica, inspiring the mothers to remain steadfast in their faith and family responsibilities.
The day concluded with a colourful cultural programme, filled with songs, dances, and expressions of gratitude, making it a memorable celebration of faith and pride in the vocation of Christian motherhood.
