On 13 August 2025, the St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha, celebrated Har Ghar Tiranga with fervent patriotism during the morning assembly, as students proudly held the Indian Tricolour in their hands, turning the school campus into a vibrant sea of saffron, white, and green.
Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra SDB, Principal of the school, addressed the gathering, highlighting the National Flag’s deep significance as a symbol of unity, pride, and the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters. “The Tiranga is not merely a piece of cloth it embodies the sovereignty, ideals, and values of our great nation,” he reminded the students.
Following this, Vice Principal Fr. Anmol Soreng SDB elaborated on the history and meaning of the flag, noting that it was adopted on 22 July 1947 and designed by Pingali Venkayya. He explained the symbolism of the three stripes saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for truth and peace, and green for faith and prosperity and described the navy-blue Ashoka Chakra at the center, representing justice, righteousness, and continuous progress.
Students were also informed about the Flag Code of India, which specifies the 3:2 proportion of the flag, the importance of khadi fabric, and proper display etiquette.
The event concluded with a strong sense of national pride and unity, inspiring students and staff alike to carry forward the spirit of the Tiranga in their daily lives.
