The students of Don Bosco Primary Section, Kokrajhar taking part in the Patriotic Singing Competition with spirit of freedom and patriotism.
On 9th August 2025, the Primary Wing of Don Bosco High School, Kokrajhar, resonated with music, colour, and patriotic fervour as students from Classes I to V took part in a Patriotic Singing contest ahead of the 79th Independence Day celebrations. The event, themed “Honouring Freedom, Inspiring the Future,” aimed to nurture love for the nation and instill in young hearts the responsibility of safeguarding hard-earned freedom.
The newly constructed Primary Auditorium, adorned with tricolour balloons, live plants, and creative paper crafts, provided the perfect setting for the competition. The contest began with a prayer led by Ms Nory Vinegar Iswary, followed by words of inspiration from Ms Bijulee Mushahary.
From the very first note, the young participants—nine finalists from each class, carefully selected in preliminary rounds held on 6th August enchanted the audience with their melodious renditions of patriotic songs. “Where words fail, music speaks,” and the children’s heartfelt performances spoke volumes of their love for the country.
The event was guided by the meticulous coordination of Ms Rupashree Chakraborty, Ms Dolly Narzary, Sir Khwmdwn Borgoyary, and hosted by Ms Winyan Bisai Sarkar. An experienced panel of teachers well-versed in music served as judges, ensuring fairness and encouragement for every performer.
Principal Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Marngar SDB commended the children for their enthusiasm and reminded them of the importance of giving their best in all pursuits. Vice-Principal Br. Paul Makri SDB encouraged the students with his meaningful insights.
The competition concluded with a rousing address by Rector Rev. Fr. Francis Basumatary SDB, who congratulated all participants for their confident and spirited performances. He urged the students to pursue their passions with dedication and hard work, reminding them that true success lies not just in winning, but in wholehearted participation.
