Don Bosco Centre for Learning, Tura, came alive with joy and excitement on 9th August 2025 as it celebrated Fresher’s Day to welcome the new batch of students for the academic year 2025–2026. The event aimed to foster a sense of belonging, encourage interaction between seniors and juniors, and provide a vibrant platform for showcasing talents.
The celebration began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a short prayer led by Rev. Fr. Andreas Panna SDB. Rev. Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma, Rector of the community, extended a warm welcome to the freshers, expressing his delight at their arrival. In his address, he highlighted the importance of academic excellence, active participation in co-curricular activities, and cultivating mutual respect within the campus community.

A special “Freshers’ Talent Hunt” gave newcomers the opportunity to display their creativity and confidence. Fun games and interactive activities helped break the ice, creating an atmosphere of laughter and camaraderie.
One of the event’s highlights was the crowning of Mr. Fresher, awarded to Rodrigue M. Sangma for his talent, personality, and engaging interaction. He received a memento and a gift as a token of recognition.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Alecius Ch. Sangma, who appreciated the contributions of the organising team, performers, and support staff.
