On 5 August 2025, St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha, came alive with vibrant colours, curious minds, and a spirit of innovation as it hosted the Arts, Crafts & Science Exhibition – 2025 for students from Nursery to Class X. The school grounds transformed into a hub of ideas and ingenuity, offering students a dynamic platform to explore, express, and exhibit their creativity beyond the confines of the classroom.
The much-anticipated event was graced by Shri Taposh Ch. Marak, Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO), Ampati, who served as the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the exhibition and lauded the efforts of the school in promoting holistic education. In his address, he inspired the students to keep nurturing their talents and emphasized the importance of science and innovation in today’s world. Shri Bestling A. Sangma, Principal of Garobadha Government Higher Secondary School, also attended the event as Guest of Honour.
This year’s exhibition witnessed a massive turnout of over 2,500 students and visitors, including students and staff from neighbouring schools like Damalgre, Mellim, St. Claret Hr. Sec. School, Ampati, and others. Parents, guardians, and local well-wishers too joined in large numbers, turning the event into a true community celebration.
From 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, the school campus was abuzz with activity as students proudly showcased their innovative models, artistic creations, and scientific experiments. The exhibits ranged across disciplines, with special emphasis on renewable energy (solar, wind), space exploration (Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan), waste management, medical technology, quantum computing, DNA replication, and climate change.
The students displayed excellent communication skills while explaining their projects, many of which offered practical solutions to real-world issues. The Chief Guest encouraged students to develop the habit of reading science books during holidays, reminding them that such habits are beneficial for competitive examinations and lifelong learning.
The presence of the Salesians and over twenty teachers from various schools added grace to the occasion. The Principal of St. Dominic Savio Hr. Sec. School, Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra, SDB, expressed immense joy and satisfaction at the success of the exhibition. He praised the hard work of students and teachers and thanked all the participating schools and visitors for making the event a grand success.
