The brothers who animated the Summer Time Youth Ministry 2025 after the concluding session of the STYM at Provincial House, Guwahati.
The concluding session of the Summer Time Youth Ministry (STYM) 2025 was held at Mario Hall, Provincial House, Panbazar, Guwahati, on 28th July 2025. This final gathering brought together the Salesian brothers who had been engaged in animating youth across various parishes throughout the month of July.
STYM 2025 began on 01st July 2025 at Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli, and marked a significant revival of the programme after a gap of eight years. It aimed at empowering youth in Salesian parishes with meaningful engagement, spiritual animation, and pastoral accompaniment.
During the concluding session, the brothers who had been assigned to different parishes shared their experiences. For many, it was their first time being directly involved in youth animation, and they described the experience as deeply enriching and formative. While most accounts reflected joy and enthusiasm, the brothers also candidly shared some challenges they faced in the field, highlighting the real-life dynamics of working closely with the young.
Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati, facilitated the session and guided the brothers in evaluating their experiences. He expressed appreciation for their contributions and encouraged them to take forward the lessons learned into their ongoing formation and future ministry.
The brothers conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Province for reintroducing the STYM initiative and offering them the opportunity to participate in it. They also echoed the voices of many young people from the parishes, who hoped that the programme would become a regular annual event, strengthening the Salesian animation of youth across the region.
With renewed zeal and enriched experiences, the brothers are set to return to their theological college on 29th July 2025 to resume their academic journey, carrying with them the spirit of Don Bosco and the voices of the youth they served.
