In a vibrant celebration of academic achievement and community spirit, Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli, hosted a felicitation programme on 22nd July 2025 to honour the successful students of Kharghuli and Joypur villages who passed their Class 10 and 12 board examinations with flying colours.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Chief Guest Ms. Nandita Dutta, IAS, and Guest of Honour Ms. Violet Baruah, IPS, who congratulated the young achievers for their hard work and perseverance. Both officers commended DBI for taking this meaningful initiative to recognise and encourage rural talents, emphasizing the transformative power of education in empowering communities.
Rev. Fr. VM Thomas SDB, Founder Director of DBI, graced the occasion along with Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian SDB, Executive Director of DBI, and Rev. Fr. John Rabha SDB, Associate Director of DBI. The Sisters, staff, and students of Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli, added to the celebratory atmosphere with their presence.
Speaking at the programme, Fr. VM Thomas remarked, “This event is not just a celebration of academic excellence, but a reaffirmation of our commitment to nurture and empower young minds from all walks of life.” Fr. Cletus Sebastian also encouraged the students to aim higher and contribute meaningfully to society.
The villagers of Kharghuli and Joypur expressed their joy and gratitude for the initiative, stating that such recognition motivates the younger generation to pursue their studies with greater dedication and confidence.
