A vibrant and spirit-filled Summer Time Youth Ministry was held at Don Bosco Kumarikata from 18th to 20th July 2025, bringing together enthusiastic youth under the theme “Anchored in Hope.” The three-day camp was organized by the Parish Youth Council and animated by Salesian brothers, with a dynamic blend of formation, fun, and faith.
The camp officially began on Friday afternoon with the arrival and registration of participants, followed by tea and the inaugural ceremony led by the parish youths. The evening saw a beautiful moment of grace with the recitation of the Rosary, Confession, and Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Narendra Lakra SDB. After a fraternal supper, the youth gathered for an interactive session titled Youth Alive, conducted by the brothers, before retiring for the night.
Saturday was packed with formative sessions and creative engagement. The day began early with morning prayers and Mass by Fr. P.A. Peter SDB, followed by nourishing inputs on critical themes. Bro. Sagar spoke on the Importance of Goals in Life, Bro. Phabian enlightened the youth on Christian Identity, and Fr Ignatius Gari SDB along with Mr. Michael Hansda offered a powerful session on Human Trafficking, raising awareness on a pressing social issue. In the afternoon, Bro. Raju animated a session on The Role of Youth in the Church. The day concluded with group games, prayer, and a lively Cultural Night, showcasing the talents and creativity of the youth.
The final day, Sunday, featured a session by the Vice Provincial Fr Bivan Rodriques mukhim SDB on the theme “Youth and the Eucharist”, encouraging the young to remain rooted in Christ and hopeful amidst challenges. After breakfast, the youth led a meaningful moment of prayer and Rosary before the Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr. Amit Chama Lakra, Rector and Parish Priest. The camp concluded with a heartfelt ceremony and a lunch for all the participants.
