
On 21st June 2025, the Don Bosco College, Tura, came alive with energy as 250 NCC cadets from across the Garo Hills assembled to celebrate International Yoga Day 2025. The event radiated the spirit of wellness and unity, highlighting the role of yoga in nurturing both body and mind.
Despite early morning showers, the skies cleared by 6:00 a.m., allowing the programme to begin on schedule at 7:00 a.m. The cadets, along with senior NCC personnel, engaged in a comprehensive yoga session led by experienced NCC officer Sub Bir Bahadur Thapa. The session featured a series of asanas, meditative practices, and mindful breathing exercises designed to cultivate physical fitness, emotional resilience, and inner calm.
Organized by the NCC Department of Don Bosco College in collaboration with the College Management, the event was marked by meticulous planning and smooth execution. The celebration offered cadets a meaningful pause from their routine, encouraging them to embrace the holistic values of yoga in their daily lives.
The event concluded with refreshments, fostering fellowship and reinforcing the positive atmosphere of the day. It was a celebration not only of yoga, but of unity, discipline, and the vibrant spirit of youth dedicated to service and self-care.
