
The fathers from the St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Parish, Panbazar being felicitated as part of the celebration of International Men's Day.
The St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Parish, Panbazar, reverberated with prayer and gratitude as it celebrated Father’s Day on 15th June 2025, honouring the fathers of the parish community. The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass at 9:00 A.M., drawing a large number of parish fathers who came together to mark the occasion with faith and fellowship.
The Holy Eucharist was presided over by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Vincent Xalxo, SDB, with several other priests concelebrating. The liturgy began with a touching entrance procession, during which the fathers came forward reverently with lighted candles, symbolizing their commitment to guiding their families in the light of Christ. These candles were then offered at the altar, marking a moment of deep spiritual significance.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Vincent Xalxo highlighted the indispensable role of fathers in nurturing Christian families and guiding them in accordance with the will of the Lord. He encouraged all fathers to embrace their vocation with love, responsibility, and faith. Extending his heartfelt wishes on the occasion of International Father’s Day, he reminded them of their vital mission as spiritual leaders in the home. As a gesture of appreciation, all the fathers present were felicitated at the end of the Mass with traditional Assamese phoolon gamochas, offered in love and gratitude by the parish community.
