The initiation and opening ceremony of the Pre-novitiate for the Batch 2025–2026 was held at Don Bosco Pre-novitiate House, Dotma, on the morning of 2nd June 2025. The solemn occasion began with the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial of the Salesian Province of Guwahati.
In his homily, Fr. Bivan urged the 25 newly admitted Pre-novices to rely wholeheartedly on the power of God and to entrust their journey to the Blessed Mother. He encouraged them to persevere in their holy vocation with courage and confidence.
During the inaugural programme, Fr. Bivan inspired the Pre-novices to believe in themselves and to trust that the Lord who has called them will provide the strength they need, reminding them of the words: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” He exhorted them to give their best in prayer, studies, and community life as they begin this important phase of their vocational journey.
The programme began with the Hymn to the Holy Spirit and the symbolic lighting of the lamp by the Vice Provincial, the former and present Directors of the house, and one of the Pre-novices—marking a moment of surrender and dedication to the Lord.
Present for the occasion were Rev. Fr. Joseph Almeida, SDB, former Director of the Institute, Rev. Fr. Mackley Gomes, SDB, current Director of the Pre-novitiate House, and Rev. Fr. Ajay Xaxa, SDB, Administrator and Dean of Studies.
The ceremony was filled with joy, gratitude, and hope as the new batch of 25 Pre-novices took their first step in their Salesian formation journey.
