
The Catholic faithful of Arnamlongthu Mission Centre came together to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of the Priestly Ordination of Rev. Fr. Joseph Langne Teron SDB and the Religious Profession of Rev. Sr. Rita Kujur SAL, Superior of St Ann’s Home, Baithalangso on Sunday 25th May 2025. The jubilant occasion was marked by prayer, felicitation, and heartfelt tributes at the Don Bosco Centre, Arnamlongthu – Baithalangso.
The day’s events commenced with a solemn Holy Eucharist at 10:00 a.m. in thanksgiving for the 25 years of faithful service rendered by the jubilarians. Rev Fr Joseph Langne Teron SDB, the Silver Jubilarian. The celebrations brought together students, religious, clergy, and lay faithful who joined the two in thanking God for his dedicated services. Fr Teron in his homily spoke about his formation period and the guidance he received from his formators and in particular he mentioned the name of Fr Michael Balawan SDB, who shaped his Christians life and vocation.
The felicitation programme began with a beautiful Prayer Dance by the Hostel Girls of St. Ann Home, followed by a Welcome Address by Sir Romeo Timung, Treasurer of Arnamlongthu. A specially composed Jubilee Song by Arnamlongthu Church set a joyful tone for the celebrations.
The stage came alive with colourful performances by the ICYM of Arnamlongthu, Don Bosco Hostel Rongkeri, A song performance by Karishma Beypi from Umrongso, DBS students, and Don Bosco Boys & St. Ann Girls. These performances reflected the vibrant spirit and cultural richness of the local community.
Others who spoke during the programme included Fr. John Timung, Vicar General of Diphu Diocese, and Fr. Bivan Rodriques Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial of the Guwahati Province. In their speeches, they highlighted the humility, commitment, and missionary zeal of both Fr. Joseph Teron and Sr. Rita Kujur.
The Jubilarians, visibly moved, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to God and to all who journeyed with them over the past 25 years. Sr. Rita Kujur shared inspiring words of dedication and love for religious life, while Fr. Joseph Teron reflected on his priestly journey with humility and joy.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Fr. Dominic Mardi SDB, Vice Principal and a final round of traditional dances, followed by a fraternal meal shared among the hundreds gathered.
