On 23 May 2025, a solemn and grace-filled ceremony held this morning at Salesian College, Dimapur, thirty-eight Salesian brothers renewed their religious profession, recommitting themselves to the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience. The renewal of profession was received by Fr. Joseph Pampackal, SDB, the Provincial of the Salesian Province of Dimapur (IND).
Among the thirty-eight brothers, six hailed from the Salesian Province of Guwahati (ING), marking a significant moment of unity and shared vocation between provinces. The ceremony was imbued with deep spiritual fervour as the brothers stood before the altar, reaffirming their dedication to God and to the mission of Don Bosco.
Fr. Pampackal, in his homily, encouraged the young Salesians to remain faithful and joyful in their vocation, reminding them that the Salesian way of life is a journey walked in hope and in communion with the young and the poor. “Your ‘Yes’ to God today is not just a renewal of vows, but a renewal of love—of your deep desire to follow Christ with the heart of Don Bosco,” he said.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt felicitation for the brothers and a fraternal gathering that echoed the joy of the Salesian family. The presence of the six brothers from Guwahati Province was deeply appreciated, symbolizing the strong bonds of fraternity that unite the various provinces in the Salesian Congregation.
