Rev Fr Threnius Sangma, Principal Don Bosco School, Tura at the Inauguration of the 1st All Garo Hills Don Bosco Schools Sports Meet.
The 1st All Garo Hills Don Bosco Schools Sports Meet 2025 was organized at Don Bosco School, Tura on 10 May 2025. The Meet brought together young athletes from various Don Bosco institutions across the region. The event, spearheaded by the Don Bosco Sports Academy under the Salesian Province of Mary Help of Christians, Guwahati, aimed to foster sportsmanship, unity, and youthful enthusiasm.
The day began with the arrival of participants followed by an inaugural ceremony. Fr. Threnius Sangma, Pricipal Don Bosco School, Tura welcomed the participants. This was followed by scripture reading and prayer, flag hoisting by the Chief Guest Rev Fr Jogesh B. Sangma, and the singing of the National Anthem. The Chief Guest then addressed the gathering and declared the sports meet open.
Matches kicked off at 9:30 AM with great energy. In Football Don Bosco School, Rongkhon won the championship while Holy Family School, Rongkhon won the Basketball final.
The closing ceremony at 4:00 PM featured speeches, prize distribution, and a vote of thanks delivered by Fr. Martin Marak. The event concluded with the singing of “We Thank You O Lord for Don Bosco”.
