Don Bosco School, Guwahati, came alive with vibrant colours, festive rhythms, and joyous celebrations as it hosted the 18th Don Bosco Rongali Bihu Utsav at the Don Bosco Bihutoli on 10th May 2025. The annual event, a much-awaited celebration of Assam’s rich cultural heritage, drew enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and the wider community.
The festivities commenced at 2:30 PM with the inaugural programme, setting a cheerful and respectful tone for the day. This was followed by the Inter-School Bihu Nritya Competition at 3:00 PM, where young dancers from various schools showcased their grace, energy, and cultural pride through traditional Bihu dance performances.
At 5:30 PM, the stage was taken over by the talented Bosconians, whose cultural programme reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting the cultural vibrancy of the region. The highlight of the evening was a special cultural show by Shankuraj Konwar at 6:30 PM, which enthralled the audience with soulful music and contemporary interpretations of Assamese culture.
Fr. (Dr.) Alex Mathew SDB, Principal of Don Bosco School, expressed his gratitude to all participants and guests for making the event a resounding success. “The Rongali Bihu Utsav is not just a cultural celebration but also a platform for our students to understand and cherish their roots,” he said.
