The Provincial Council members paid tribute to the late Pontiff at the Provincial House, Panbazar, Guwahati, on 26th April 2025.
On the day when the world bid farewell to Pope Francis at his funeral in Vatican City on April 26, 2025, the Provincial Council members gathered to offer a solemn tribute to the beloved Pontiff. A prayer service themed “The Pope of the People: A Shepherd with the Smell of the Sheep” was organized, reflecting on the life and legacy of the late Pope.
Rev. Fr. Nicodim Aind SDB, a member of the Provincial Council, coordinated the service, which was attended by the council members. The tribute was a heartfelt expression of gratitude to the leader who shepherded the Catholic Church for 12 years and made significant contributions to world peace and care for creation through his humble and dedicated service.
The prayerful gathering concluded with a special prayer led by Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, the Provincial, entrusting the soul of Pope Francis to the loving embrace of the Heavenly Father.
