The St Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Church, Panbazar, was filled with deep devotion and spiritual fervour as the Catholic faithful gathered in large numbers to celebrate Palm Sunday on 13 April 2025. The sacred occasion marked the beginning of Holy Week and was observed with prayerful moments and symbolic rituals.
Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim, SDB, Vice Provincial, was the main celebrant at the solemn Holy Mass, concelebrated by several priests. The celebration began with a reverent procession from the school corridors, where the faithful carried palm leaves and sang hymns, commemorating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
The Holy Mass was held at the Don Bosco School Auditorium, where Fr. Bivan, in his sermon, reflected on the significance of Palm Sunday. He urged the faithful to embrace both joyful and sorrowful moments of life with gratitude to God. “Jesus, though the Son of God, humbled Himself to take on human form. We are called to imitate His humility before God and one another,” he said.
