Rev. Fr. Albert Khorgeswar D. Sangma SDB was officially installed as the Rector of Don Bosco Community, Haflong, during a solemn Holy Mass. Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial, officiated the installation ceremony.
On the morning of 12th March 2025, Rev. Fr. Albert Khorgeswar D. Sangma SDB was officially installed as the Rector of Don Bosco Community, Haflong, during a solemn Holy Mass. Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB, Vice Provincial, officiated the installation ceremony on behalf of the Provincial, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB.
The Mass was attended by Rev. Fr. Xavier Beck SDB, Principal, Rev. Fr. Cornelius Myrthong SDB, Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Charles Deepen Lakra SDB, Province Secretary, and the parishioners of Haflong, who witnessed the joyful occasion.
In his homily, Fr. Bivan encouraged the parishioners to draw inspiration from the Prophet Jonah, highlighting how obedience to God’s call led to blessings for the people of Nineveh. He expressed confidence that Fr. Albert’s obedience and dedication would bring similar blessings to the community of Haflong. He also called upon the faithful to support Fr. Albert in his dual role as Rector and Parish Priest, and to keep him in their prayers.
Following the homily, Fr. Albert recited the profession of faith and made a solemn vow to uphold the duties outlined in the Salesian Constitution. He expressed deep gratitude to the Provincial and the Council for entrusting him with the responsibility and assured the community of his commitment to fulfilling his duties as Rector.
After the Holy Mass, the faithful gathered around Fr. Albert to offer their congratulations and support as he embarked on this new chapter of service to the community.
