The General Chapter 29 (CG29) of the Salesians of Don Bosco commenced its Days of Spirituality with a deeply enriching schedule of prayer, reflection, and meditation. Held at the headquarters in Turin, this period of spiritual renewal is scheduled from February 17 to 20, 2025, allowing participants to strengthen their faith and Salesian commitment.
The first day of the Spirituality Days, Monday, February 17, began with morning prayer and praise in language groups, followed by a shared breakfast. The highlight of the morning was the first meditation led by Don Pascual Chávez, former Rector Major, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, inspiring participants to engage in prayer and personal reflection.
The spiritual momentum continued at midday with the celebration of the Eucharist, followed by lunch at 1:00 PM. In the afternoon, Don Pascual Chávez once again guided the assembly in a second meditation session from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, reinforcing the importance of deep contemplation in Salesian life.
As the evening set in, the community gathered for Vespers at 7:15 PM, followed by dinner at 8:00 PM. The day concluded with an optional Rosary prayer at 9:00 PM, allowing participants to end the day in quiet devotion.
The Spirituality Days at CG29 continue in the coming days with more sessions aimed at fostering personal growth, community spirit, and faith renewal. The presence of distinguished Salesian leaders, including Don Pascual Chávez, adds a profound spiritual dimension to this gathering, marking it as a time of deep connection with the Salesian charism.
