Don Bosco Tech inaugurated hospitality training in partnership with Marriott International and Accenture India on January 3 at Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bangalore. The training will be carried out across 11 states for 2500 women and disadvantaged youth, marking a significant milestone in bridging the skill gap in the industry. The Marriott International Area Vice President, South Asia Ranju Alex, and Ajay Vij, Senior Country Managing Director, Accenture India, graced the event.
The signing of an MoU between Marriott International, Accenture, and Don Bosco Tech Society signifies a major step toward bridging the skill gap in the hospitality sector. Twenty more officials from Accenture and Marriot attended the programme. The team interacted with the students, getting to know their needs and clarifying their doubts. The training is designed to equip participants with industry-relevant skills and hands-on experience, preparing them for entry-level roles in the hospitality industry.
Speaking at the event, Ranju Alex said, “Marriott’s core values are deeply rooted in the belief that everyone deserves equal opportunities. Unfortunately, barriers often prevent many talented individuals from pursuing their aspirations. Through this initiative, we aim to empower youth by providing them with the right skills to build rewarding careers in the hospitality sector.”
Kshitija Krishnaswamy, MD Corporate Citizenship, APAC, Accenture, added, “We are excited to collaborate with Marriott International and Don Bosco Tech on this project, which reflects our commitment to creating impact at scale. By providing youth with the resources and opportunities needed to be employment-ready in today’s competitive environment, we are investing in both their future and the long-term sustainability of the workforce.”
This initiative of Don Bosco Tech stands as a significant step toward empowering youth through skill-based training and ensuring them promising careers in the hospitality industry.
