On 31st January 2025, the community of Shallang, along with the students and staff of Joplang School, joined the entire Salesian Family in celebrating the feast of St. John Bosco, the Father and Founder of the Salesians, with great enthusiasm and devotion.
The celebration was graced by Rev. Fr. Alfred Marzo, SDB, a veteran Salesian, who served as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the invaluable contributions of Don Bosco, emphasizing his enduring legacy as the “Saint of the Young.” Fr. Marzo inspired the students to follow the values of Don Bosco, encouraging them to dream big and work towards their goals with faith and perseverance.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Rev. Fr. Denis Toju Sangma, SDB, Rector and Parish Priest, also addressed the students and staff, shedding light on the life and mission of Don Bosco. He highlighted the saint’s unwavering dedication to the education and upliftment of the youth, urging everyone to embody his spirit of service, kindness, and commitment to learning.
The feast day celebration was marked with moments of prayer, inspiring speeches, and a joyful gathering, making it a memorable occasion for the Shallang community and the young minds of Joplang School.
