The NCC Cadets of Don Bosco College, Tura, have once again brought pride to their institution and the region. Sergeant Niksilchi A. Marak made a mark on the national stage by participating in the prestigious Prime Minister’s NCC Rally on January 27 in New Delhi.
Adding to the college’s accolades, the cadets delivered an outstanding performance at the recently concluded 6th Meghalaya Games, securing a total of seven medals. Their achievements contributed to West Garo Hills securing the 6th position in the overall standings.
JUOP Tengsilchi R. Marak emerged as a multiple medalist, clinching gold in the 50m rifle shooting event and two bronze medals in the 10m rifle (women) and 10m air rifle mixed team categories. In wrestling, CQMS Ronibel N. Sangma, LCPL Rashme D. Marak, and LCPL Nochambe Ch. Marak each won bronze in the women’s freestyle wrestling individual events.
The NCC cadets also made their presence felt in team sports, with Cadet Kakimchi S. Sangma winning bronze in the women’s volleyball team event.
The NCC girls contingent of the college won second prize at the Republic Day parade organised by the West Garo Hills District of Meghalaya.
