The Nineteen of January 2025 marked a day of extraordinary joy in Saralpara, a remote forest village, under Dotma Parish as 12 couples from diverse tribal communities, including Adivasis, Boros, and Santals, received the sacrament of marriage. The Holy Eucharist was celebrated with reverence by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Edathumparambil SDB, accompanied by Fr. Somesh Tudu SDB and Fr. Ajay Xaxa SDB, who jointly delivered the homily and marriage blessings in their respective languages. This thoughtful gesture ensured every couple and their families could partake meaningfully in the sacred ceremony.
Although Saralpara lies 43 kilometers from the parish, the church was packed to capacity. The day’s success was a testament to the unity among the 15 Catholic villages forming the Saralpara Sub-Center. The community’s shared faith and joy turned the wedding into a grand celebration of love and togetherness.
Following the Mass, the festivities continued with vibrant dancing in the open air. The villagers, young and old, joined in the jubilant celebration of the newlyweds, their heartfelt smiles mirroring the warmth of the occasion. As evening descended, they returned to their villages with hearts filled with gratitude, cherishing the memories of a deeply meaningful day.
