Don Bosco School, Sashipur, successfully hosted its much-anticipated Annual Day Cum Parents’ Day programme on Friday, November 21, 2025. The event, held in the school auditorium, was a vibrant showcase of talent and cultural diversity, graced by Mr. Goop Sonam Dukpa, Chairman of SD Eastern Bhutan Ferro Silicon, as the Chief Guest.
The evening commenced promptly at 4:45 PM with a solemn but festive atmosphere. The programme began with a melodious Band Performance by the school band, followed by the traditional Lighting of the Lamp and a Floral Tribute to Jubeen Garg. A heartfelt Welcome Address was delivered by the Principal, Fr. Nicodim Aind, who set the tone for the celebrations.
The event unfolded as a colourful tapestry of performances, featuring students from all grades. The audience was treated to a wide array of acts, including a graceful Prayer Dance by students of Classes IX and X, an energetic Action Song by the LKG students, and thought-provoking skits on the perils of Social Media and Drug Abuse performed by senior students.
The cultural richness of the region was on full display through a series of traditional dances, including Assamese, Bodo, Sadri-Santali, Nepali, and Bhutanese performances. The stage came alive with the energy of a Hindi Dance, the elegance of a Classical Dance, and the exuberance of a South Indian Dance.
A significant highlight of the evening was the address by the Chief Guest, Mr. Goop Sonam Dukpa, who commended the students for their performances and the school for its commitment to holistic education. The Guest of Honour, Rev. Fr. Biyan Mukhim, Vice Provincial of the Guwahati Province, also addressed the gathering.
The programme also included a speech by the Parents’ Representative, Mr. Welkin Mosharry, fostering the essential school-parent partnership. The event drew to a formal close with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Vice Principal Fr. Paul Minj, followed by the respectful singing of the National Anthem.
The Annual Day was a resounding success, reflecting the hard work and dedication of the students and staff, and provided a perfect platform to celebrate the talents and cultural harmony within the school community.
