On October 26, 2025, the Don Bosco College campus in Tura was electrified on Sunday as the Don Bosco Centre for Learning (DBCL) community clinched a hard-fought victory against the Don Bosco Boys’ Home, winning the Intercommunity Basketball Championship with a nail-biting final score of 45-42.
The tournament, which brought together four local communities from across the Garo Hills region, was a vibrant display of athleticism and local camaraderie. The participating teams—Don Bosco College (DBC), Don Bosco School (DBS), Don Bosco Centre for Learning (DBCL), and Bosco Mount—battled through the day, culminating in an intensely competitive final between DBCL and the Don Bosco Boys’ Home.
The championship game was a showcase of skill and determination from the opening whistle. Both teams traded baskets and defensive stops in a fast-paced encounter that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. Neither side could build a decisive lead, setting the stage for a dramatic finish.
In the final moments, with the game hanging in the balance, the DBCL community demonstrated remarkable composure. They executed their plays effectively under pressure to secure the narrow three-point victory, finally sealing the game at 45-42.
The Don Bosco Boys’ Home team put up a valiant fight throughout the contest, earning them the well-deserved runners-up position in the tournament.
