The Salesians around the Provincial Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB and the Jubilarians.
The Province celebrated with joy and gratitude the Jubilee of Confreres and Province Community Day 2025 on Saturday, 18th October 2025. The twin celebration, held at Provincial House, Panbazar, brought together Salesians from different communities of the Province to thank God for the gift of consecrated life and to honour the confreres marking their golden and silver jubilees of religious commitment.
The day began with a solemn Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Church, Panbazar at 10:00 a.m. The main celebrant was Rev. Fr. Joseph Puthenpurackal, SDB, a Golden Jubilarian, and the homily was preached by Rev. Fr. Joseph Thelekkatt, SDB, also a Golden Jubilarian. In his homily, Fr. Thelekkatt expressed heartfelt gratitude to God for His enduring faithfulness and reflected on the joy of serving the Lord through the Salesian vocation. He thanked God for the Province and for the leadership of Rev Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial and express everyone’s support for the work of the province.
Following the Holy Mass, the felicitation programme took place at Mama Margaret Hall, Don Bosco School, Panbazar, at 11:30 a.m. The event was compered by Rev. Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma, SDB. The programme began with a prayer dance presented by Snehayala, setting a prayerful tone for the celebration.
Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, the Provincial, delivered the keynote address, appreciating the jubilarians for their years of faithful service, dedication, and joyful witness to the Salesian charism. He highlighted how their perseverance and commitment continue to inspire the younger generation of Salesians. He expressed gratitude to the confreres for the support in taking forward the mission of the province.
The felicitation of the jubilarians followed in a spirit of gratitude and joy. Rev. Fr. Ignatius Gari, SDB, felicitated the Golden Jubilarians, while Rev. Bro. Benjamin Rosant, SDB, and Rev. Fr. Bromio Ch. Marak, SDB, felicitated the Silver Jubilarians for ordination and profession, respectively. With the help of AI, presentation was done in the form of video presentation. Adding a modern twist, the presentation was no longer the traditional garland-and-giggle routine; thanks to the magic of AI, a sleek video presentation did the honours, proof that even technology wanted to join the jubilee party
A congratulatory song rendered by the Young Salesians added a joyful note to the programme. This was followed by a special felicitation of the Provincial and the Provincial team by Rev. Fr. Kerobin Minj, SDB, in recognition of the leadership and guidance. Rev. Fr. Nicodim Aind, SDB, a Silver Jubilarian, shared words of appreciation on behalf of all the jubilarians, thanking the Provincial, the organizing team, and the confreres for their prayers, encouragement, and fraternity.
