On the 5th of October 2025, the Sacred Heart Parish joyfully celebrated a significant spiritual milestone as 137 children received their First Holy Communion during the Sunday Holy Mass. The solemn celebration, filled with devotion and reverence, marked a memorable day for the parish community, the young communicants, and their families.
The church was beautifully decorated for the occasion, radiating a festive atmosphere of faith and thanksgiving. Parents, godparents, catechists, and parishioners gathered in large numbers to witness this sacred event. The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Markus Lakra SDB, the Parish Priest, who also administered the First Communion to the first communicant.
In his homily, Fr. Markus highlighted the significance of receiving Jesus in the Holy Eucharist for the first time, encouraging the children to remain close to God throughout their lives. “We congratulate these future church leaders. Some among them will be priests and nuns in the future,” he said with hope and joy, inviting the faithful to nurture the seeds of vocation among the young.
The celebration was the fruit of months of preparation and catechetical instruction under the guidance of dedicated catechists and parish volunteers who helped the children understand the meaning of the Eucharist and the importance of living a life of faith.
