The General Past Pupils Meet of St. Dominic Savio Higher Secondary School, Garobadha, held on 04th October 2025, was a heart-warming reunion that rekindled memories, strengthened friendships, and renewed the Salesian family spirit. The event, hosted in the school hall, brought together over 200 past pupils, teachers, and well-wishers, all united by their shared gratitude for the formative education they received under the guiding spirit of Don Bosco.
The celebration began with Introductory Words by Mr. Moses Sangma, the Master of Ceremony, who warmly welcomed the gathering and set an engaging tone for the day’s programme.
A moment of honour followed as the assembly welcomed the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Jogesh A. Sangma SDB, Principal of Don Bosco Junior College, Tura, and Delegate of Past Pupils, Guwahati Province.
The Welcome Dance presented by the students infused the hall with joy and vibrancy. Thereafter, Rev. Fr. Punit Kumar Lakra SDB, Rector & Principal of St. Dominic Savio Hr. Sec. School, addressed the gathering with words of welcome. He emphasized the importance of the past pupils as integral members of Don Bosco’s extended family and urged them to remain united in the Salesian spirit wherever they go.
The Dance Club of the school then presented an Aerobic Dance, showcasing youthful energy and enthusiasm that reflected the Salesian emphasis on joy and togetherness.
In his Address to the Gathering, Rev. Fr. Jogesh A. Sangma SDB expressed his happiness to be amidst the past pupils and reminded them of their lifelong call to be “good Christians and honest citizens.” He encouraged them to stay connected with their alma mater and to contribute positively to the world through their lives and professions.
One of the key moments of the day was the Election of Office Bearers for the Past Pupils Association. The following members were elected to serve the Association:
- President: Shri Matseng R. K. Sangma
- Vice President – I: Shri Smith R. Sangma
- Vice President – II: Shri Johan Ch. Marak
- General Secretary: Smt. Immaculata T. Sangma
- Treasurer: Smt. Chingme K. Sangma
The newly elected office bearers pledged to uphold the values of Don Bosco and to animate the association with renewed zeal and commitment in service to others.
The open sharing session brought moments of reflection and nostalgia as several past pupils took the floor to express their gratitude and share heartfelt memories of their school days. Their testimonies echoed a deep sense of belonging and appreciation for the Salesian education that shaped their character and faith.
The event concluded with a sincere vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Immaculata T. Sangma, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Rector & Principal, teachers, past pupils, and organizers for making the gathering a success.
