Rev. Fr. Biju Michael SDB, Regional Councillor for South Asia, was welcomed by the Provincial House community on 26 August 2025.
The Province had the joy of welcoming Rev. Fr. Biju Michael SDB, Regional Councillor for South Asia, on his official visit to the Provincial House from 26–28 August 2025. His visit marks a significant moment as it is his first to the Province following his re-election as Regional Councillor for South Asia at the 29th General Chapter held in Rome.
During an evening Goodnight Talk with the confreres, Fr. Biju shared uplifting news from the Rector Major. He highlighted the historic visit of the Holy Father, Pope Leo, to a Salesian centre and the joyous announcement that on 19 October 2025, the Salesian Family will rejoice in the canonization of Blessed Maria Troncatti, who will be declared a saint. He invited the confreres to be grateful for the gift of sanctity in the Salesian Family and to cherish this blessing.
On the following morning, Fr. Biju presided over the Holy Mass and, in his homily, reflected on the day’s readings. He reminded those present of the importance of cleansing one’s inner self, which holds greater value than external appearances. “It is only when the inside is clean that we can walk worthily in the presence of God,” he emphasized, urging everyone to proclaim the Gospel and live as authentic witnesses of God’s love.
As part of his visit, Fr. Biju will meet with the Rectors and Leaders of Communities and later address the Provincial Council members. The Province expressed its heartfelt gratitude for his presence, encouragement, and guidance, which will help inspire and direct the Province in the coming six years.
