Mothers being felicitated at Barpeta Road Parish during the celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday 24th August 2025.
The Salesian Parish of Barpeta Road joined in the joyful celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday, 24th August 2025, with a solemn Eucharistic celebration and a special programme honouring the mothers of the parish. The Parish anticipated the feast of St Monica an example of Christian mother which occurs on 27th August 2025.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jonas Toppo SDB, Parish Priest, and was concelebrated by the priests of the parish. The Sisters, along with a large gathering of the faithful, also participated in the celebration.
In his homily, Fr. Jonas Toppo reflected on the noble vocation of Christian motherhood. He emphasized the responsibility of mothers to instill in their children the fear of the Lord, guiding them to live lives of faith and gratitude for God’s daily blessings.
Following the Mass, the parish community expressed their appreciation and love by felicitating the mothers. The event was marked by joy, gratitude, and unity, as families came together to celebrate the invaluable role of mothers in the life of the Church and society.
