Missionary Formation Course (MFC) 2025 officially commenced at Mathias Institute, Provincial House, Mawlai, under the Province of Shillong. Rev Fr Sebirence Islary SDB and Rev Bro Michael Kindo SDB are representing the province. The course, scheduled from 20th August to 10th September 2025, brings together participants for an enriching programme of prayer, reflection, and missionary training.
The inaugural session was graced by Rev. Fr. John Zosiama SDB, Provincial of INS, who delivered the opening message. In his address, he emphasized the urgent need for ongoing formation in mission, highlighting that the call to mission requires constant renewal and deepening of faith.
Following the inaugural, Fr. Jose Chemparathy SDB shared lessons from his personal experiences in the mission field, inspiring the participants with practical insights. The day also included group planning, sharing of expectations, and a period of adoration, setting a reflective tone for the weeks ahead.
The course will span over three weeks, featuring renowned speakers, including Archbishops, Bishops, Provincials, and experienced Salesians, who will cover diverse themes such as the New Testament foundations of mission, evangelization, Salesian charism, missionary catechetics, and missionary spirituality. Interactive sessions, pilgrimages, and village experiences are also integrated into the programme to provide holistic missionary formation.
