
Rev Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial addressing the staff and the students of Don Bosco College Higher Secondary Section, Tura during the canonical visitation to the centre.
The Don Bosco Centre for Learning, Tura, had the privilege of hosting Rev. Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial, and Fr. Jayaprakash SDB, Economer, for the Canonical Visitation held on 19–20 August 2025. The visitation was a time of grace, encouragement, and renewal for the community.
On 19 August 2025, the Provincial and the Economer arrived at 12:05 p.m. and were welcomed with flowers and a traditional reception by the community members, followed by a fraternal lunch. At 1:30 p.m., Fr. Provincial addressed the confreres in the Opening Conference, highlighting the importance of community life, the practices of piety, fidelity to the evangelical counsels, and the personal plan of life. He encouraged the brothers to pursue sound intellectual formation as an essential part of Salesian life.
Throughout the day, Fr. Provincial held separate interactive sessions with the teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students, past pupils, and oratory boys. These meetings provided opportunities for open dialogue on concerns, suggestions, and achievements. He gave valuable guidance, stressing faith, discipline, dedication, and service. He also met the confreres personally, enquiring about their vocation and state of life.
On 20 August 2025, Fr. Provincial presided over the Solemn Holy Eucharist. In his homily, he invited everyone to foster love for the Eucharist and the daily reading of the Word of God. Following the Mass, he blessed the newly installed Dream Statue of Don Bosco, a reminder of the congregation’s mission.
A special assembly was also organized by the students in honour of the visitation, featuring cultural performances of songs, dances, and speeches. In his address, Fr. Provincial commended the institution for its achievements and urged everyone to work in a spirit of cooperation and excellence.
The visitation concluded with the Concluding Conference at 6:30 p.m. Fr. Provincial appreciated the community for its dedicated work and exhorted the young confreres to be faithful in prayer and to take their studies seriously, reminding them that they are the backbone of the congregation. He expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and assured the community of his continuous support and prayers.
