Fr Alfred Marzo SDB along with Fr Markus Lakra SDB, Rector and Parish Priest of Shallang and Fr Francis Kujur SDB cutting the cake on the occasion of the 210 Birthday of S John Bosco.
The community of Shallang joyfully celebrated the 210th Birth Anniversary of St. John Bosco, the Father and Friend of Youth on 16th August 2025. The day’s celebration began with the Holy Mass in honour of St. John Bosco, after which the community gathered for a cake-cutting ceremony.
The highlight of the event was the cutting of the cake by Rev. Fr. Alfred Marzo SDB, who expressed his gratitude, saying that the Church is blessed by God with the gift of Don Bosco, raised as a saint especially for the young.
Also present at the celebration were Rev. Fr. Markus Lakra SDB, Rector and Parish Priest, and Fr. Francis Kujur SDB, Assistant Parish Priest, along with the Salesian Sisters, hostel boys and girls, and members of the parish community.
The occasion was marked by a spirit of joy and thanksgiving as all reflected on the life and mission of Don Bosco, who dedicated himself selflessly to the service of the young and continues to inspire the Salesian Congregation and the world.
