
Students of Jopland School getting ready for the March Pass on Independence Day 2025 at the School Ground.
Joplang Higher Secondary School, Shallang, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15th August 2025. The school welcomed Rev. Fr. Markus Lakra SDB, Rector, as the Chief Guest, along with Fr. Hubert, to the parade ground where the festivities took place.
The celebration began with a warm reception for the guests, followed by a disciplined and impressive march past by the students. The parade ground came alive with various cultural items and performances, each beautifully presented, reflecting the students’ creativity and love for the nation.
In his address, Fr. Markus Lakra encouraged the students to commit themselves to building a better India in the future, reminding them that such a mission requires dedication, sacrifice, and hard work. His inspiring words were met with applause and admiration from the gathering.
Following the Independence Day programme, the school community participated in a solemn Eucharistic Celebration. Students, teachers, and faithful joined together in prayer, thanking God for the blessings of freedom and unity.
The event not only honoured the nation’s independence but also strengthened the spirit of togetherness and responsibility among the students of Joplang H.S. School.
