Don Bosco Institute (DBI), Kharghuli, celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15 August 2025 with great enthusiasm and pride. The campus came alive with the spirit of patriotism as staff, students, and guests gathered to honour the nation’s freedom.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Chief Information Commissioner of Assam and retired Director General of Police. He was warmly welcomed by Rev. Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, Executive Director of DBI. The celebration was graced by the presence of Salesians of the community, faculty members, and students.
Following the flag hoisting, the students presented a series of cultural and patriotic dances, captivating the audience and adding vibrancy to the occasion. The performances reflected not only the patriotic spirit but also showcased the rich cultural diversity of the country and the North Eastern region in particular.
The event served as a reminder of the unity in diversity that defines India, inspiring all present to work together for the nation’s progress and harmony.
