With the theme “Young People: Pilgrims of Hope”, the Summer Time Youth Camp 2025 was held from 25th to 27th July 2025 at St. Dominic Savio Parish, Garobadha, drawing young participants from various parish circles for a weekend of faith, fellowship, and fun. Rev Fr Sebastian Kuricheal SDB, Provincial interacted with the participants of the Summer Time Youth Ministry at Garobadha. Over 200 youths took part in the STYM.
The camp opened on 25th July with registration and welcome tea, followed by a inauguration and flag hoisting ceremony. The Welcome Ceremony was led by Mr. Franklin M. Sangma and Ms. Claudia M. Sangma. The evening continued with the Rosary led by Wakantagre Circle, and the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Threnius N. Sangma SDB, Principal of Don Bosco School, Tura. The night concluded with engaging group activities and night prayer led by the Parish Circle.
The second day, 26th July, began with a spiritual tone through morning prayer and praise and worship led by Baispara Circle. The youth actively participated in formation sessions, group activities, and games, interspersed with prayer and fellowship. The Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma SDB, Principal of Don Bosco College, Higher Secondary Section, Tura. The evening will feature adoration, rosary, and confessions, followed by a highlight of the day, the Skit Competition, which showcased the creativity and collaborative spirit of the youth.
The final day, 27th July, will be filled with joyful participation. After the morning session and breakfast, the youth prepared for the concluding Holy Mass, to be animated by the SDS Choir. The Thanksgiving and Evaluation session, along with the Valedictory Function and Lowering of the Flag, will bring the camp to a meaningful end.
The Summer Camp 2025 will renew in the youth the sense in faith and energized to live as “pilgrims of hope,” inspired by the words from Romans 12:12: “Kadonanio Katchabo, Duko Chakchikbo; Biao Watgalija Dongbo.”
