The Don Bosco Church, Doomni, came alive with youthful enthusiasm as it hosted a three-day youth programme from 25th to 27th July 2025 under the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope.” The event saw the participation of energetic youth from various centres of the parish, animated by a team of Salesians and youth leaders.
The programme began on Friday, 25th July, with registration and an inaugural ceremony led by the Doomni Youth. The day featured insightful sessions such as “Young People, Pilgrims of Hope” by Br. Haisu and “The Pros and Cons of Social Media” by Br. Raju. The highlight of the day was the celebration of the Holy Mass by Fr. Robert Basumatary SDB, preceded by the Rosary. The session on Effective Leadership and Friendship by Br. Aswin encouraged the youth to form meaningful relationships and discern true leadership in their lives.
Saturday, 26th July, continued with sessions on Child Rights and Migrants by Fr. Ignatius Gari SDB and Children with Disabilities (CWD). Group activities fostered team spirit and creativity. The day also included practices for the upcoming cultural programme. A spiritually uplifting Holy Mass was celebrated by the Rector, and the day will conclud with a session by the Vice-Provincial, Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB.
On Sunday, 27th July, the final day will begin with adoration led by the Doomni Youth and a session by Br. Raju on “The Role and Responsibilities of Youth in the Church.” The Eucharistic celebration will be celebrated by Fr Bhaskar Raj SDB, the Rector. The programme will then culminate in a cultural programme and a jam session that celebrated the creativity, energy, and unity of the youth.
The “Pilgrims of Hope” gathering provided a space for learning, prayer, friendship, and fun, enabling the youth to deepen their faith and reflect on their call to be bearers of hope in today’s world. The organizing team, led by the Doomni Youth, Fr. Rector, Salesians, and animators, were widely appreciated for their commitment and seamless coordination of the event.
