The Summer Time Youth Ministry 2025 was inaugurated on 26th July with much enthusiasm and spiritual energy at St. Francis Xavier Parish, Dotma. The opening ceremony was marked by the solemn lighting of the lamp, symbolising Christ as the Light of the World who dispels all darkness. Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim SDB, the Vice Provincial of the Guwahati Province, led the lighting ceremony along with Fr. Sebastian Edathumparambil SDB, the Parish Priest, Fr. Somesh Tudu SDB, the Youth In-Charge, the Superior of the FMA Convent, Fr. Naresh Jojowar SDB, the Principal, and other dignitaries and enthusiastic parish youth.
The programme began with the proclamation of the Word of God, setting a prayerful tone for the evening. A Santhali dance performed by the youth added colour and cultural richness to the event.
Fr. Sebastian Edathumparambil, the Parish Priest, addressed the gathering and extended a warm welcome to all participants. He took the opportunity to felicitate the guests and dignitaries, acknowledging their presence and support.
The highlight of the evening session was a talk by Rev. Fr. Bivan Rodrigues Mukhim on the theme “Youth and the Eucharist”. His engaging and interactive presentation, aided by a PowerPoint, captivated the attention of the young participants, drawing them into a deeper understanding of the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life.
The Parish community expressed deep appreciation for the tireless efforts of Fr. Somesh Tudu SDB, the Youth Service Coordinator, and the two clerics who have taken up the responsibility of coordinating the programme. Their dedication and enthusiasm have created a vibrant and faith-filled atmosphere for the youth.
