The novices after making their first profession at Emmaus Novitiate, Zubza.
On the 24th of May 2025, eight novices made their First Profession as Salesians of Don Bosco, marking a significant milestone in their vocational journey. The profession ceremonies were held simultaneously at Sunnyside, Upper Shillong, and Emmaus Novitiate, Zubza. Four novices made their profession at Zubza, while the other four at Sunnyside.
At Zubza, the First Profession Holy Mass was attended by Rev. Fr. Jogesh B. Sangma SDB and Rev. Fr. Nicodim Aind SDB, who represented the province. The Holy Mass at Zubza was presided over by Rev. Fr. Joseph Pampackal SDB, Provincial of Dimapur. In his homily, Fr. Pampackal reminded the novices of the importance of responding generously to God’s call, much like the Blessed Virgin Mary, who, despite knowing the trials ahead, said “Yes” to God. His words resonated deeply, urging the newly professed Salesians to embrace their vocation with courage and faith.
At Sunnyside, Upper Shillong, the Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. John Zosiama SDB, Provincial of Shillong. In his homily, Fr. Zosiama expressed heartfelt gratitude to the community for its role in guiding the novices through their formation. He also commended the novices for their courage in saying “Yes” to God, especially in today’s challenging times. He prayed for the intercession of the Blessed Mother, asking her to continue guiding the newly professed Salesians in their journey of faith and service. Rev Fr Sebastian Isorary SDB represented the province at Sunnyside.
The Province extended prayers and appreciation for the newly professed, entrusting them to the loving care of our Blessed Mother and St. John Bosco. As they take the next steps in their Salesian journey, the entire Salesian family prays that they may be guided by divine wisdom and continue to serve with joy and dedication.
