The much-anticipated International Conference for School Teachers (TICON-2025) opened today at Don Bosco Institute, Kharghuli on May 8, 2025, drawing educators from across the region to explore the theme “Transformative Leadership in Education: Teachers to Lead Change.”
The day began with an inspiring inaugural session, presided over by Executive Director Fr. Cletus Sebastian, SDB, who urged participants to embrace fresh ideas and collaboration. “Let this conference be a tapestry of thoughts, dreams, and dialogues that awaken a new spirit of leadership in each of us,” he remarked.
Keynote speakers Dr. Debabrata Das and Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, SDB, set the tone for the three-day event, sharing research and real-world examples of how teachers can become catalysts for innovation in their classrooms and communities. Dr. Das highlighted the importance of emotional intelligence in leading school teams, while Fr. Kuricheal emphasized the role of values-based pedagogy in nurturing student potential.
Over the next two days, attendees will engage in panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and networking sessions designed to equip them with strategies for inclusive leadership, digital literacy, and curriculum design. Delegates will also have the opportunity to present their own case studies and participate in mentorship clinics.
Organizers say they hope TICON-2025 will spark ongoing collaboration and empower teachers to enact meaningful change in education systems. Follow updates and highlights on social media using #TICON2025.
