A week-long spiritual retreat for Clerics and Brothers preparing for the Perpetual and Renewal of Vows commenced on the evening of Sunday, 13th April 2025, at Don Bosco Provincial House, Panbazar, Guwahati. The retreat, attended by twenty-two young Salesians, is centered on the theme “Rooted in Christ, Radiating His Love.”
Rev. Fr George Maliekal SDB from Don Bosco College, Byndihati, is guiding the retreat as the preacher. With his rich spiritual wisdom and pastoral experience, he is helping the participants rediscover the grace of God’s call and deepen their commitment to religious life.
The retreat opened with the celebration of the Holy Mass, setting the tone for a week of reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal. This was followed by the finalization of the retreat timetable and an inspiring opening talk by Fr Maliekal. A time of Eucharistic Adoration concluded the evening, providing the clerics and brothers an opportunity to reflect on the Lord’s grace in their lives.
Organized during the Holy Week, the retreat carries a deep significance. It invites the participants to journey with Christ in His Passion and to find meaning in the sufferings they may encounter in their life of service. It is a time for the young Salesians to strengthen their resolve to embrace a life of sacrifice, service, and love, in imitation of Christ.
The retreat will culminate on Saturday, 19th April 2025, as the participants prepare themselves with renewed zeal for the important step of professing their vows.
